Local support: Childcare.co.uk Review

Ah the return to work, unexpected but not entirely unwelcome. Covid threw our family a curve ball and luckily, we caught it.

When I think back over 14 years of being a mother, I consider how many wonderful people have supported us along the way. As a large family without local support we have relied on professionals to provide not just care and safety but also emotional support and empowerment to our children. These little people are my whole world, and it’s only right that we feel those who take care of them in our absence are able to echo our values and adapt to the personalities of our brood.

From the one-to-one care of a childminder when my daughter was tiny and I returned to education, to a mothers help (still very much part of our family now) when working from home, these people have become part of the patchwork of our children’s lives, enabling us to improve our prospects, build on the littles social interactions and attachment, and prepare our children for school.

If 2020 has taught us anything it’s the importance of trust, of building a stronghold of support around your family and not to underestimate the feeling empowered when unexpected situations arise.

Launched in 2009, childcare.co.uk is the country’s largest directory of childcare providers, multi-award winning and credited with finding 2 million families the support they need, it has an extensive portfolio of childminders, babysitters, tutors, nannies and more, as well as emergency support for times of unexpected need.

Unlike traditional search sites, it also puts control back in the hands of parents, offering opportunities for them to place adverts in order to find childcare specific to their family requirements. There are useful guides on contracts, finding the right provider for you and what to expect when it comes to fees and ensuring your provider has the correct registration and qualifications.

Childcare.co.uk isn’t just a search engine, it’s a social network for parents and childcare professionals, allowing you to connect with people in your area best able to support your family. They understand how hard it can be to entrust your child to others and how important it is to be able to find emergency help when the unexpected strikes.
